Utah’s internationally celebrated Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) will be in Kane County on Friday, March 1, culminating in a full evening concert at the Kanab High School auditorium at 7 p.m.

A special presentation is planned for Kanab with an RDT performance of “EXCURSION,” featuring works showcasing innovation, athleticism and beauty.  Bring the family, and join RDT’s brilliant performers as they present an exciting program featuring a variety of dances filled with high energy, humor and drama.

Utah’s Repertory Dance Theatre was founded in 1966 as a fully professional modern dance company dedicated to the performance, creation and preservation of modern dance. It is the oldest and most successful company of its kind, a living museum representing one hundred years of dance history, preserving the largest and most significant collection of American dance in the world.

RDT has performed for diverse audiences in schoolrooms and opera houses, from gymnasiums to the Kennedy Center, in more than 300 cities throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

During their trip to Kanab, they will conduct two lecture demonstration workshops at Kanab Elementary School and at Kanab High School. The RDT will complete their time in Kanab by taking the stage at 7 p.m. for a full community performance in the auditorium. Admission is free and everyone is encouraged to attend the family friendly programming.

RDT’s visit is supported by an OnStage Utah grant from the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, Center for Education, Business, and the Arts (CEBA), Kane County, and Kanab City.
