Coconino County Parks and Recreation Department representatives and District Supervisor Carl Taylor visited Fredonia last week for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the town park.

The many volunteers and sponsors who contributed to the park were thanked profusely, as were the town staff, including the public works department that put in countless hours to bring the project to fruition.

County representatives explained the fitness zone and walking/jogging trail were funded by a recreation and open spaces sales tax that had been voted for by Coconino County residents several years ago.

The crowd cheered as Taylor and Fredonia Mayor Brent Mackelprang cut the ribbon, officially opening the newly renovated park for all to enjoy.
