Amazing Earthfest welcomes violist Joel Rosenberg
Joel Rosenberg, Linda Ghidossi DeLuca, Connor Chee, Arvel Bird, Peter and Mary Danzig and Anna Jensen will grace local audiences at two lovely classical chamber concerts. How fortunate is Kane County, to be a world-class destination for the week of May 13-20, as the 6th Amazing Earthfest showcases the mighty musical talents of these seven exceptional performers!
For the third consecutive year, Rosenberg sojourns from his normal routine, conducting and performing on viola with the American West Ballet and Paradigm Chamber Orchestra in Salt Lake City, to enjoy a warm welcome from discriminating listeners among the residents and visitors in Kanab during southern Utah’s festival of learning, discovery and adventure.
Uniquely exquisite performances take place on Thursday, May 17, with limited seating at $15 per person in the intimate and artistic setting of the Bingham Gallery in Mt. Carmel at 7 p.m.; and in the fullness of the professional stage at Crescent Moon Theater on Saturday, May 19, at 7 p.m., at $10 per person.
Tickets will be sold at the door for these truly memorable occasions. Student admission $7, and children under 12, free.
Rosenberg devotes his time while in Kanab to a busy rehearsal schedule. Works will include a trio, The Seasons by Astor Piazzola, solo performances of the Civil War Variations by John Logan Skelton, and Preludes: B-Minor Opus 23, No. 5, and G-Minor Opus 32, No. 10, by Sergei Rachmaninoff, the Sonata for Viola and Chamber Ensemble by Niccolo Paganini, Symphonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Piano by Mozart, and three original works by Arvel Bird; Bear, Red Tail Hawk, and Dragonfly/Star of Munster Medley.
