The Kanab Cowboys picked up a big win last Thursday night over Page, Arizona, defeating the Sand Devils 52-46.

Three Cowboys were in double figures, with Brandon Jenson leading the way with 19. Conor Corry netted 14 and Yanni Gallagher added 11.

Kanab jumped out to a 12-6 lead in the first period and made the six point advantage stand up. They led 25-18 at the break, and pushed their lead to 10 points after three quarters of action, 37-27. Page closed the gap in the final frame, but the Cowboys held on for the six point win.

Kanab will host the Cowboy Classic this Thursday and Friday. Liahona Prep will face South Sevier at 5:30 on Thursday, with Kanab taking on Maeser Prep at 7:15 p.m.

The Kanab Cowgirls also picked up a big win last Tuesday, December 20, knocking off 3-A Pine View 55-31.

The Cowgirls got off to a fast start, pumping in 19 points in the first frame to lead by 10. After a pretty even second quarter, the ‘Girls led 31-19 at the half. Kanab held the visitors to two points in the third stanza, to take a commanding lead, 43-21.

Calli Jackson led the Cowgirls once again with 21 points and nine rebounds. Kaytee Glover racked up 15 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals. Whitney Houston also had a good game, netting 10, assisting on five passes and stealing the ball four times.

This week, the girls play in the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic, facing Canyon View on Wednesday, Hurricane on Thursday, and Cedar on Friday.
